Today, at the shop we received a Dell XPS M1530 laptop from a customer. The laptop was overheating and shutting down every 5 minutes.
We went ahead and started disassembling the laptop. We found out that the heat sink vent was completely covered with dust ;thus, preventing the laptop to breath properly.
We also cleaned the fan.
We put it back together, and the laptop was running perfect once again.!
